Our goal is to assist families that are experiencing challenging situations with loved ones who are dealing with various
stages of dementia. This is both a physically and emotionally crippling disease. Our Officers have seen first hand what this devastating disease can do to families.
This program has three phases:
Phase 1
Identify and address families in need of assistance. Our officers will make on site contacts and assess
willing families while introducing them to the program. Examples would be:
- Home inspections to advise the families how to better prepare their home for caring for their family member.
- Take pictures of family member to be placed on file in Hurstbourne Acres Police Department office in case of
emergency and establish protocols for such emergency.
Phase 2
Help the family establish a support system using State and Local agencies to assist families with both physical and emotional resources.
Phase 3
Follow up and educate the community about the program
If in need assistance or you would like additional information about this program please contact Chief Redman or Police
Commissioner Renninger.
