Hurstbourne Acres Golden Watch Program

Our goal is to assist families that are experiencing challenging situations with loved ones who are dealing with various stages of dementia. This is both a physically and emotionally crippling disease. Our Officers have seen first hand what this devastating disease can do to families.

This program has three phases:

Phase 1

Identify and address families in need of assistance. Our officers will make on site contacts and assess willing families while introducing them to the program. Examples would be:

Home inspections to advise the families how to better prepare their home for caring for their family member.

Take pictures of family member to be placed on file in Hurstbourne Acres Police Department office in case of emergency and establish protocols for such emergency.

Phase 2

Help the family establish a support system using State and Local agencies to assist families with both physical and emotional resources.

Phase 3

Follow up and educate the community about the program
